Bubba and Bogs

Mother called,
And then she bawled -
Dear God why did he die!

He was only five!
Had yet to thrive!
Then, she hung up the phone.

Father called,
Less enthralled,
Mother surely lied.

The cat was three,
Mangy, with epilepsy,
Then he hung up the phone.

Sister called,
Confused by all,
What's this about a dead cat?

Mom and Dad have two dogs,
Named Bubba and Bogs,
And then she hung up the phone.
